The Old Town

From the airport someone, apparently known to cops and others, driving an SUV but was not a real taxi, took me through this gate into the old city. Then he was lost, looking for the hostel. After we found it, while I was being distracted by the people at the front desk - no, not a scam by them, the taxi driver quickly brought my bag in and left with my change. It was just a few dollars worth, but I was nonetheless annoyed.

I only had given myself one night there, not realizing how lovely the place was, and had to do the best I could with that short time

I wanted to catch the evening light and so hustled out the door, turned left and found this

I was not the only one trying to catch some late evening town shots (I have no pony in this race)

The local restaurants getting ready for the evening business (not me, I can't travel that way)

This would be more my speed and budget, but with so little time, I needed the flexibility of solitary footwork.

The evening turned briefly drizzly, then presented me with a very interesting sky
